FQA Season 2025 – 2nd Half
As we move through to the second half of the season, we want to remind all Southside Eagles FQA players and families of the key expectations that help create a professional, respectful, and safe football environment.
Training Uniform
All players must attend training in the full Southside Eagles training kit:
-
Training shirt
-
Training shorts
-
Green Southside Eagles socks
Consistency in attire supports team identity and creates a professional training environment.
Game Day Uniform
-
U13 and above: Players must arrive and leave in the club’s formal game day attire, which includes the black polo and black shorts or tracksuit pants.
-
U12 and below: May wear their green numbered shorts with their club polo, as change rooms are not provided and black shorts are not part of their kit requirements.
Please note that matchday jerseys remain the property of the club and must not be worn to or from matches. These are strictly for in-game use only. Team managers are asked to collect all jerseys after matches for laundering.
Safety Equipment & Compliance with the Laws of the Game
To ensure the safety of all players and align with the Laws of the Game, the following standards must be observed during both training sessions and matchdays:
-
Socks & Shinpads: Only Southside Eagles green socks may be worn. Any tape, grip socks, or external material applied must match the sock colour it covers. Shinpads are compulsory—they must be of appropriate material and size, and must be fully covered by the socks. These are essential for the safety of all players on the field.
-
Jewellery: Jewellery of any kind (earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, rubber bands, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Taping over jewellery is not allowed. These regulations are in place for the safety of every player and must be upheld at both training and games.
Spectator Guidelines at Training
We’re always pleased to have families supporting from the sidelines. However, to allow players to focus and coaches to deliver clear and consistent messages, we ask that parents and caregivers observe from a respectful distance and do not offer instructions or advice during sessions.
This helps reduce unnecessary pressure and distractions, enabling players to engage fully in the learning environment. You’re welcome to observe, but please allow the team space to train without external influence.
Spectator Guidelines on Game Days
All spectators should remain on the opposite side of the pitch from the Technical Area (which includes team benches and marquees). Only registered players and officials are permitted in or near this space. Suspended individuals must not enter or sit in the Technical Area.
We kindly ask for your understanding when players are warming up, being coached, or engaging with their team. Interjecting with advice or criticism can disrupt focus and lead to conflicting instructions. Moreover, shouting instructions or negative comments (directed at our players, the opposition, or referees) sets the wrong tone and contradicts the inclusive, supportive environment we strive to build.
We value parent involvement and encourage you to support your child’s development—but ask that this be done at suitable times, away from moments when players are actively participating with their team.
Player Behaviour Expectations
When wearing Southside Eagles gear, players represent more than just themselves—they represent our club’s values, standards, and culture. As such, we expect every player to demonstrate:
-
Respect for teammates, opposition, match officials, and facilities
-
Sportsmanship and inclusivity in every interaction
-
Positive language and conduct, both on and off the pitch
-
Accountability for actions—taking ownership of mistakes and responding constructively
-
Supportive communication—encouraging teammates rather than criticising
-
Resilience under pressure—managing frustration and emotions in a controlled, respectful way
-
Commitment to learning—listening to coaches and striving to improve
We ask all players to avoid any form of disrespectful or negative commentary—whether directed at teammates, opponents, referees, or spectators. Speaking poorly about others, even casually or in frustration, reflects poorly on the team and is not in line with our values.
Swearing, unsporting behaviour, or damage to equipment and facilities is not acceptable and will be addressed accordingly. We aim to be a club that consistently promotes respect, integrity, and professionalism in everything we do—on and off the field.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If you have any questions or need assistance with uniforms or gear, please reach out at any time.
Kind regards,
Sam Gahan (Technical Director)
