Game Days
• Under 9 – U12 teams play a mix of home (Bulimba Memorial Park) and away games across Greater Brisbane.
• Games are generally scheduled on Saturdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
• Please note: Southside Eagles does not control the scheduling of away fixtures.
Girls Team Options
Girls have several options to play in our local Brisbane competition overseen by Football Queensland, no trials required.
• U8 Girls (Born 2019) A girls only competition suitable for all playing levels.
• U9 – U12 girls-only competition suitable for all playing levels.
• Girls are also welcome to join or form mixed teams playing in the boys’ competition.
Boys Under 9 – U12 Team Levels
Under 9 – U12 teams are graded into four levels:
Kangaroos (Advanced Level)
A performance level team suited to players with advanced skills, strong game awareness, and a desire to progress towards the FQ Academy pathway.
• Matches are played with greater speed, skill and tactical focus.
• Trials are mandatory for entry into Kangaroos (dates TBC for 2027).
• K1 (excluding U9 K1 pre-academy) teams are for the most advanced and dedicated players, providing a pathway into U10 – U12 FQ Academy.
• U9 – U12 K2 level team/s may be formed if enough suitable players are identified at trials.

Wallabies (Intermediate Level)
A community level team suited to players with previous playing experience, a good understanding of the rules, and the ability to perform with minimal instruction.
• The club may form Wallabies teams after trials.
• Existing teams with a dedicated coach who understands the players’ ability may request direct nomination into Wallabies.
• This can be discussed with the MiniRoos Coordinator at the start of the season.
Quokkas (Social Level)
A community level team suited to players who are new to the game, have basic foundational skills, enjoy playing socially, and may benefit from additional guidance as they develop.
• If your child prefers not to attend trials, they can join or form a Quokkas social team.
• The club can assist with merging teams or finding spots for newcomers.
• Families are encouraged to invite new friends to join the Southside Eagles community in 2027.

Fees
2027 fees are yet to be confirmed while we await Football Queensland and Football Australia fee updates.
Fees Include
• 2 weeks of pre-season games + 18 weeks of official season (20 weeks total)
• Official Southside Eagles training shirt
• Playing shirts (remain club property and must be returned at season end)
• All training and playing equipment
• Field set up, pack down and maintenance
• Referee fees
• End of season trophy and participation in Trophy Day
• Football Queensland fees
• Insurances and administration
Kangaroo teams receive 2 x training sessions from a dedicated coach
Not Included
• Southside Eagles shorts and socks (required; available from the Uniform Shop)
• Shin pads (required)
• Football boots (required)

How to join a team
Step 1: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
EOIs remain open until early February 2027.
You may submit an EOI for:
• An individual player to be allocated to a team
• A full team (coach + manager required)
You must provide each player’s name, date of birth, and parent/guardian contact details
Step 2: Team Formation
From January to March 2027, staff and volunteers will allocate over 1300 players into teams. Please be patient while this process is completed.
Step 3: Player Registration
By mid-March 2027, all teams will be announced.
Parents/guardians will receive:
• Your child’s allocated team
• The full team list
• Contact details for the nominated parent/guardian (coach/manager)
You will then be asked to register and pay fees through Squadi, Football Queensland’s official registration platform.
Do not register in Squadi until your team is confirmed — no refunds apply.
An additional Football Australia fee is mandatory when completing your registration for the season. This payment is made via PlayFootball during the FA registration step (the fee was $18 in 2026).
We will guide you through all Squadi and Football Australia registration steps.
Step 4: Muster Day
In early March, all families are invited to Memorial Park for Muster Day — meet your team, kick a ball around, and collect your playing kit.
Step 5: Start Playing!
• Pre-season games: Late March
• Official season: Late April to mid-September

Fee Payments
All fees must be paid — or a payment plan confirmed — before the season begins. Missed payments on a plan may result in cancellation of registration.
