Under 9 – Under 12 community teams are graded into two different levels:
- Quokkas: This level is well-suited to players who have basic skills of the game, are looking to have fun and may require assistance to develop their skills on the pitch.
- Wallabies: This level is well-suited to players who have played the sport previously, have good knowledge of the rules and sound performance with minimal instruction from their coach.

Online Expressions of Interest will be open until early February 2026.
You may submit an expression of interest for:
- An individual player for us to allocate to a team. Click here to submit an individual expression of interest.
- A full team complete with coach and manager. Note: You must have a list of each player’s name and date of birth as well as each player’s parent/guardian name, email and phone number. Click here to submit a team expression of interest.
Step 2: Team Formation
Between February 10th, 2026 to February 24th, 2026, Southside Eagles staff and volunteers will sort players into teams based on your Expressions of Interest. Please be patient while we complete this mammoth task for over 1300 players.
Step 3: Player Registration
By February 25th, 2026 we will announce all complete teams. We will email parents/guardians the name of the team players have been allocated to, the names of all the players allocated to that team, and the names and contact details of the nominated parent/guardian so you can start to make contact with each other.
You will then be asked to formally register and pay registration fees through the Squadi platform. Squadi is Football Queensland’s official registration platform. Please note that you should not register in Squadi until your team is finalised as there is a no refund policy.
Please note that an additional step to pay $15 Football Australia fees is also a requirement.
We will guide you through the Squadi and Football Australia steps!
Step 4: Attend Muster Day
In early March, we invite all players and their families to come down to Memorial Park for Muster Day. This is an opportunity to meet your team, kick a ball around and pick up your playing kit and equipment.

The official season kicks off late April until mid September.
