Southside Eagles Football Club Inc (ABN 50 894 213 617) is an incorporated association. The association is governed by the rules set out in its Constitution. 

What is the purpose of the Committee? 

  • Leadership: Bring the club’s values, vision, purpose and strategies to life. 
  • Promote Football – Encourage football and other sports within the Association’s boundaries. 
  • Provide Facilities – Maintain football grounds, clubrooms, and amenities. 
  • Advance the Association – Support its growth and mutual benefit through: 
    • Performance: Assist the club to perform to its best potential 
    • Compliance: Conform with or exceed all legal requirements 
  • Manage risks – Ensure all significant risks are adequately considered and accounted for through appropriate controls and processes 
  • Manage Finances – Invest funds as per the Association’s rules. 
  • Protect Members’ Interests – Work towards the improvement of the club community, including a strong commitment to child safeguarding, diversity and inclusion.  
  • Encourage Social Events – Organize activities to build camaraderie and bring the community together. 
  • Form Sub-Committees – Create groups to achieve specific goals. 
  • Conduct Lawful Activities – Do anything necessary to fulfill the Association’s mission. 

How do people become members of the Association? 

Any eligible member of the Southside Eagles community may apply to be a member of the Association. This can be done by submitting an application form to the Management Committee for consideration. Applications will be assessed by the committee. The committee will assess the following: 

  1. Commitment & Availability
  • Willingness to dedicate time to committee meetings, events, and club activities. In addition to monthly meeting attendance, this would equate to 4 or more hours of approved activities per month. 
  • Availability during key football seasons and club events. 
  • Willingness to take ownership of action items. 
  1. Club & Community Alignment
  • Passion for football and the club’s mission. 
  • Understanding of the club’s values and commitment to fostering a positive environment. 
  • Representing the entire Southside Eagles community including players in all sections, parents, referees, coaches, managers and spectators. 
  1. Relevant Skills & Experience
  • Experience in leadership, sports management, finance, marketing, event planning, IT, administration, operations and governance. 
  • Ability to contribute to committee decision-making. 
  1. Teamwork & Communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other committee members, coaches, players, and parents. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
  1. Integrity & Club Representation
  • Adherence to club policies, ethical conduct, and sportsmanship values. 
  • Ability to act in the club’s best interest without personal bias. 
  1. Contribution to Club Growth
  • Willingness to help with sponsorship, fundraising, community engagement, or junior development programs. 
  • Proactive in bringing fresh ideas and improvements to the club. 
  1. Understanding of Club Operations 
  • Familiarity with club governance, policies, and responsibilities of committee members. 
  • Awareness of Football Queensland and Football Australia guidelines. 

What types of memberships are there?   

Primary membership types are summarised below and the full list is detailed in the constitution.

  • Are a member of the Association, not a registered player, who is over the age of eighteen (18) years at the time of registration 
  • Are not a member of another class.

Player Members 
  • Are a member of the Association who is also a player, who is over the age of the age of eighteen (18) years, is registered with Football Queensland to play soccer and has been assigned as a player in Squadi. 

 

Full 
Honorary Members 
  • Based on extraordinary contribution or service rendered for the benefit of all members of the Association and must far outweigh what would normally be expected of Association members.

Life Members 
  • Have been a member of the Association for a continual period of at least ten (10) years and who has provided dedicated services to the Association.

In addition to attendance at regular monthly meetings, members are expected to assist with the following for four or more hours per month:
