Becoming a Coach

Once a team is formed, it is for the players' families within the team to agree upon a coach. It does not matter if you have never played. Assistance and guidance are available.  The primary role of the Junior Director of Coaching is to provide regular support and training programs to all coaches in the junior ranks. 

The Club supports and encourages all coaches to obtain accredited coaching certificates.  These courses are held throughout the year. The club will pay for course fees for coaches who successfully complete a course and train a Southside Eagles team for a season. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Role of the coach

• be enthusiastic and supportive of each player 
• promote fair play and good behaviour
• provide coaching sessions that stimulate the players to maintain their interest and improve their skill
• foster team spirit and social interaction in the players and their families
• attend coaching nights run by the the Junior Director of Coaching to assist you in your coaching 
• keep yourself informed of sound coaching principles

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .   Please also follow this procedure if you need to make any changes to your coach or manager details throughout the season. This information is vital for the club and the junior director of coaching to communicate with and manage the teams throughout the season.

Each coach needs to be registered with Football Queensland as a team official.  Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  to obtain the Football Queensland form. Please fill out the form and return to the clubhouse.

Blue Cards

Parents coaching their child's team are automatically exempted from the requirement to obtain a Blue Card.
