Becoming a Coach

Once a team is formed, it is for the players' families within the team to agree upon a coach. It does not matter if you have never played. Assistance and guidance are available.  The primary role of the Junior Director of Coaching is to provide regular support and training programs to all coaches in the junior ranks. 

The Club supports and encourages all coaches to obtain accredited coaching certificates.  These courses are held throughout the year. The club will pay for course fees for coaches who successfully complete a course and train a Southside Eagles team for a season. Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Role of the coach

• be enthusiastic and supportive of each player 
• promote fair play and good behaviour
• provide coaching sessions that stimulate the players to maintain their interest and improve their skill
• foster team spirit and social interaction in the players and their families
• attend coaching nights run by the the Junior Director of Coaching to assist you in your coaching 
• keep yourself informed of sound coaching principles

This information is vital for the club and the junior director of coaching to communicate with and manage the teams throughout the season.

Each coach needs to be registered with Football Queensland as a team official.  Please click here to obtain the Football Queensland form. Please fill out the form and return to the clubhouse.

Blue Cards

Parents coaching their child's team are automatically exempted from the requirement to obtain a Blue Card.

If you are a coach and your child is not in your team, you must obtain a government Blue Card.  Please click here to download a copy of the form.  Please click here to download Queensland Government information on the blue card.  Please contact the club secretary to arrange delivery of the signed form for processing.
